We’re looking for a talented content writer with a flair for storytelling and a great sense of humor to join our team and bring TaxStache to life!
Job Overview
We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented content writer with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or a related field, and entry-level to mid-level experience. You’ll craft engaging, reader-friendly content for a weekly email newsletter, focusing on tax resolution, tax preparation, and financial tips, while also managing and creating engaging posts for our social media channels.
If you can turn dense financial jargon into clear and concise content that doesn’t make our readers want to throw their computer into a dumpster, we want you!

- Job Responsibilities
- Newsletter Content Creation: Write engaging, informative, and humorous articles for the TaxStache weekly email newsletter, covering topics like tax resolution strategies, tax preparation tips, IRS news and personal finance advice.
- Content Research: Research tax and financial topics to ensure accuracy and relevance, translating complex concepts into clear, relatable content for TaxStache’s audience.
- Social Media Management: Create and schedule posts for platforms like X, LinkedIn, and Instagram, blending educational content with a playful tone to boost engagement and grow TaxStache’s online presence.
- Brand Voice Development: Maintain TaxStache’s simple, approachable and witty brand voice across all content, ensuring it resonates with readers and reflects our mission to make finance fun.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the TaxStache team to align TaxStache content with campaign goals, promotions, and seasonal tax deadlines.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor newsletter open rates, click-through rates, and social media engagement metrics to refine TaxStache content strategies and maximize impact.
- Content Repurposing: Adapt TaxStache newsletter content for social media snippets, blog posts, or infographics to maximize TaxQuotes’ reach and engagement.
- Stay Current: Keep up with tax law changes, financial trends, and social media best practices to ensure TaxStache’s content is timely and relevant.
- Job Requirements or Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
- 1+ years of professional/published writing experience (journalism, copywriting, or content creation preferred).
- 1+ years of remote work experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio showcasing clear, engaging, and audience-focused content.
- A sense of humor and the ability to make boring topics NOT boring
- Basic social media management experience (e.g., creating posts, scheduling content, and analyzing engagement metrics) on platforms like X, Facebook and Instagram.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign) is a plus.
- Comfort researching financial or tax-related topics (no CPA required!).
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for making complex topics accessible.
